Work

An experienced UX Designer, passionate about people and creating thoughtful, user-centered products and services. I bring valuable expertise in service design from my background in Fintech, Retail, Online Gaming, Online Learning and Telecoms.

Having spent the earlier part of my career (10+ yrs) as a web designer/ frontend developer working on large-scale enterprise & Content Managements Systems, I am proficient in the use of HTML, CSS, JS & interpreting business and technical requirements.

Team Management

From 2005-2008, I owned and managed a Web Development company, operating in the e-Commerce and Marketing spaces and developing bespoke solutions on .Net, Open Source and other platforms. I was responsible for the day to day running of the company, including Hiring of Staff, Financial Management and leading a proficient dev team. This role included meeting with new clients, compiling client briefs, preparing project plans, roadmaps, project management, costing and other related tasks.

Marketing

I am proficient in the design of marketing collateral for various marketing initiatives, having worked for some of South Africa’s biggest brands like Telkom, Woolworths, PayU MEA and most recently Pick n Pay to name a few. This experience extends to working on product launches, product demos, activations, landing pages, above and below the line campaigns.

Event Marketing Lead

Over the past 6 years I have been responsible for the marketing and event promotion of various events – from Fairs, Outdoor music concerts, Fundraising concerts and various special occasions.

One such event was the annual SJMC Jazz on the Lawn which is run for one day only and is used as a platform to showcase current and upcoming High School Jazz Talent from various socio-economic backgrounds. It also features some of South Africa’s top musical talent, like Judith Sephuma, Lira and Mi-Casa. This specific event started out with about 400 patrons and at last count had an attendance in excess of 4000 patrons.

My role included logo and brand design, merchandise design, vehicle branding, design of event posters, canvas prints, event layout, event brochure, design of social media adverts, event promotion on various social media channels, photography on the day.

My Current Role

My current role is as a Product Design Lead for Vodacom South Africa where I provide high-level expertise in UX strategy, guidance, and design across the Business Lending and Payment verticals to create intuitive, user-centred experiences that foster financial inclusivity.

I am comfortable working on my own, as a Lead Designer or as part of a broader team.

I am open to relocating.
